The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, arrived in Nairobi on Saturday 18th June at the start of a week-long visit to Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On his visit to Kenya, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said faith is neither just ideas in your head, nor just feelings in your heart "faith is the whole of a new life, making a difference to your lives, to your neighbours, to your community by the grace and the spirit of God."

As part of his visit to the Diocese of Machakos, the Archbishop of Canterbury went to the Christian Community Services offices to hear about the work they are doing in the region - empowering rural communities who are facing the challenges of food security, adaption to climate change and environmental conservation.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is to embark on a pastoral visit to the Anglican Church in Eastern Congo as the guest of the Province's Primate the Most Revd Henri Isingoma.. Prior to this the Archbishop will visit Kenya where he will be received by the Most Revd. Dr. Eliud Wabukala, Archbishop of Kenya, and have fellowship with the Christian community in the country.
