Five new members elected to join the Anglican Consultative Council Standing Committee

The results of the Anglican Consultative Council Standing Committee elections have been announced at ACC-19.

The Standing Committee is the trustee body of the Anglican Consultative Council, one of the Instruments of Communion of the Anglican Communion, a worldwide family of 42 Member Churches, present in more than 165 countries.

The election results were shared during the morning session of ACC-19, the 19th in-person meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council, on Thursday, July 4.

Five new people have been elected, and they will join the Standing Committee at the conclusion of ACC-19. The election took place on Friday, July 3, through a paper ballot.

The five newly elected members of the Council are:

Anita Gittens
The Anglican Church of Canada

Saba Kerry
The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East

Hannah Kim
The Anglican Church of Korea

The Revd Canon Ranjit Matthews
The Episcopal Church

Joaquin Philpotts
The Anglican Church of South America

The members retiring are: The Revd Inamar Correa de Souza, The Revd Tsz Leung (Billy) Ip, The Rt Revd William Bahemuka Mugenyi, The Revd Wendy Scott and Joyce Haji Liundi.

The newly elected members join the remaining Standing Committee members whose term of office continues.
