The Most Revd Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith, Primate of the Church of the Province of West Africa, presents his Easter message for 2024.

This year's Lent journey highlights the importance of love as Jesus did and being "victory against all odds" in our faith and discipleship. Paul assures us that Abraham, who believed the promise and took God at His word, became the Father of Nations. We can emulate Abraham's example by following Jesus' call to love, even in the face of adversity. Easter is a moment to remember the seeds of hope within the call to love in Victory.

As we witness tragedies and tragedies around the world, we can feel helpless. Jesus' triumph over hatred and evil provides a potent antidote to these issues, inspiring optimism and calling for action. By taking Jesus' gospel seriously and living His Way, we can be a powerful force for good and transformation in our larger community.

We must be a people of hope, a community of service, generosity, and practical assistance to those in need. We must also be a communion of forgiveness, healing, welcome, and hospitality. Saint Paul's "faith, hope, and love" (1 Corinthians 13:13) emphasizes the importance of love.

As we enter an election year in Ghana and other parts of the world, we should avoid violence and let the Spirit guide us in making the correct decisions that will assure Victory for Ghana and all Ghanaians despite all odds. We are first and foremost God's treasured ones and citizens of a beautiful and blessed country.
